Biography
A Passion from a Young Age
As a child Sylvie spent much of her time drawing and painting and as she grew older she studied numerous art forms in her spare time, including “trompe l’oeil”, patinas and figurative art. However, it wasn’t until she began exhibiting her work in 2010 that she realized how much she really wanted to pursue painting as a full-time passion.
Initially she concentrated on water colours, but eventually switched to oils, either with brushes or knives. She quickly developed a talent for working the oil in layers, allowing her to express the feeling that these ancient villages are still touched by the souls of all who have lived there.
Her medium to small format paintings are associated with her love of travel. She explores colorful villages from a distant time, drawing inspiration from unique local cultures to tell their stories.
